A miracle during the war: a baby orangutan was born at Feldman Ecopark!
These primates rarely reproduce under human care, making every such event a newsworthy occasion on a global scale! Five years ago, our beloved Ponochka became the first of her species in Ukraine to give birth to a baby orangutan. And now, she has become a mother once again! This event is especially meaningful for us, as, sadly, during the early days of the full-scale invasion, we suffered losses among our orangutans due to enemy shelling… But life goes on, and love and care work wonders. The baby was born completely healthy and is growing actively. Right now, she spends all her time with her devoted mother, who never lets her out of sight and watches over her attentively.
No matter how difficult these times are, no matter how much our Ecopark is in desperate need of people, funds, and material resources, we continue our work—and we will keep going precisely for moments like this. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stands with us, who helps restore the Ecopark, and who continuously supports us. Together, we will overcome everything, and many more wonderful moments like this await us!
