Today, for the first time since the start of the war, we visited our monkeys – chimpanzees and orangutans – who were sheltered by the Kharkov Zoo. A sea of emotions, the joy of meeting – both with us and with them, it’s just hard to put into words. They are doing well, they are moving away from what they have experienced, they are already smiling. They recognize us all and are obviously happy to see us. They are in excellent conditions, with good nutrition and care – we are sincerely grateful to our colleagues who extended a helping hand in those most difficult, extreme conditions in which we found ourselves. This is a real holiday – you can even forget about the diet for a while and drink cola. Such moments give strength and faith that everything will be fine with us.
