At the Conference of the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos & Aquariums (EARAZA) “The role of zoos in preservation of wild fauna rare species. Ecological bases of rare species protection and reintroduction”, which was held in Armenia, Feldman Ecopark as the associated member of this organization received the invitation to participation in new international nature protection programs. They are aimed at rescuing of rare fauna species of our planet, in particular, northern Eurasian cranes, bustards, European minks and otters, ruffed lemurs, hawk birds, swamp turtles and amphibians of Europe. After coordination of details, preparation of documentation and signing of agreements these programs will be launched on the basis of the Feldman Ecopark and the World Open Foundation for Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction (WOFARR).
“We have both conditions, and experience for implementation of similar projects. Our foreign colleagues from nearly twenty countries participating in the EARAZA conference recognize this fact. We received many positive comments, perspective offers and agreed to cooperate with many zoos of Europe and Asia — the founder of Feldman Ecopark Oleksandr Feldman told. – The International Conference participants were particularly appreciative of the eco humanitarian component of the joint activity of Feldman Ecopark and WOFARR, namely work with children with special needs and ecological education. Our specialists were invited to hold master classes and seminars for the exchange of experience”.
It should be noted that the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos & Aquariums was founded in 1994 and is one of the largest nature protection associations in the world. It includes about 100 organizations from the different countries of Eastern and Western Europe, Central Asia, Middle and Far East, and South America.
It should be reminded that the World Open Foundation for Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction is a global eco-friendly project, which is unique for our country, which is aimed at the development and introduction of efficient animal and environment protection strategies, methods and technologies, the development and introduction of the programs of reduction of risk zones on a global map of flora and fauna, and to unite the world community into the international animal and environment protection network.
